If you’ve seen the news recently, you will have heard about Jotilla, the 9 year old gelding who was killed in the first three minutes of the Victorian jumps racing season commencing. Jotilla, who has made over $90,000 for his owners throughout his career was killed at Sandown on Wednesday after falling on the second last steeple.
Unfortunately, Jotilla’s death won’t be the last. We believe Jotilla’s death is an ominous sign of things to come, especially given that the government have thrown their support behind jumps racing.
However, Jotilla’s death was not in vain. The extensive media coverage surrounding Jotilla’s death and the response from the public was overwhelming, as we believe that we have done everything possible to do justice for Jotilla. We will not give up the fight and we hope you feel the same way.
If you want to avenge the death of Jotilla, urge the government to ban jumps racing now.
