Jumps 2012 is finally over

Virvacity RIP

I’m glad to announce that the 2012 jumps racing season has finally wound up with the running of the last race in Victoria at Coleraine on Sunday.

Unfortunately, as we have seen in years gone by, there were casualties, and while this cruel sport continues, there will be more. You can voice your concerns by writing to the decision makers urging them to ban jumps racing.

Also, now that Spring Carnival is getting underway, it’s an opportunity to speak up for the horses who perished this year. A list of our upcoming events are below.

The season in review:

-6 horses perished in 2012 (in trials and races in VIC and SA)
-32 falls in races in VIC and SA. Many have not been seen since.
-17% of starters in VIC or SA either fell, died, dumped his rider, or failed to finish for another reason.

Rest In Peace – The Kill Board
